This product is for the Generic Aliexpress/Amazon Shifter.

This kit includes an upgraded top plate to replace that annoyingly clacky stock one, a set of significantly stiffer springs to add more resistance force, and an additional bottom TPU rubber pad to add even more sound dampening.

The rubber bump-stops also create a softer, more intentional feeling when pushing into the gates, while the upgraded springs add a considerable amount of force. All this makes for a more realistic feeling shifter, very similar to a typical road car.

There are three options for shift pattern:

6+R DOWN: Same as stock shifter. No modification required. Interchangeable with 7+R plates if you want to switch to a 6+R configuration

6+R UP: Slight modification required. Instruction video will be provided upon purchase. Interchangeable with 7R plates if you want to switch to a 6+R configuration

7+R: No modification required. Interchangeable with 6+R plates if you want to switch to a 7+R configuration

Two strengths for springs are available:

Medium: increases full force to around 2.1kg/4.6lbs

Heavy: increases full force to around 2.6kg/5.7lbs

The carbon fiber texture is directly embedded into the top plate which is printed using a non-toxic and 100% biodegradable plant-based thermoplastic.

Includes a set of countersunk/recessed screws to replace the old ones and gives a cleaner overall look.

Not compatible with Simjack shifters!

Edit: they read my review and provided me an installation video. While this video is not titled well and is very hard to find yourself, it is extremely helpful and changes the entire feel of the shifter. https://youtu.be/08d0Rtppu0A?si=A_tM7dR7nmwkhpR0&t=691 Due to the difficulty of finding the video and the poor quality of the provided hardware, I give 4 stars. You would be better off using your own Alan key set, the provided key stripped some bolt heads. Below is my original review: 1) the shifter is frustrating because third gear is not centered, which is unlike any car I have driven. That was a problem with the original Amazon product that I hoped could be fixed by the new OBSR face plate, but it has gotten worse. The gear slot is exactly as wide as the shifter arm, making it very frustrating to shift into the gears. I was expecting more from the face plate, the only plus was the rubber stops to quiet the rig down. I actually switched to the old face plate because I liked it more. The springs were a nice addition 2) the provided tools were cheap and useless. Anyone who has a sim rig has tools to assemble everything, the provided tools are landfill-quality and stripped the screws when I tried to undo them.

Store owner replied: Hey Adam, sorry to hear that you are not happy with the product. From your picture, it looks as though you have installed the internal shaft backwards. That should be rotated 180 degrees for the 6+R down top plate you have. The shaft should be sitting between 3rd and 4th gears if installed correctly. Let me know if this adjustment improves your experience.

Does exactly what it says on the box. The original shifter is loud, and the metal on metal contact risks reducing the life of the components. With the base gasket and top cover the noise problems are reduced significantly, the life of the parts gets extended and the feel is top notch. The only minor quibble was with that the plate with the 6+r up was very slightly off-centre on the 3rd/4th column slot (pic attached). It was worse before I reversed the orientation of the shifter mechanism on the base, but I'm unsure how to improve it further. Overall though, it's a massive improvement over the original shifter

I only bought the upgrade kit because I already owned the shifter. The increased strength of the springs is absolutely my favorite part of the kit but the forged carbon plate looks gorgeous and when combined with the rubber gasket they supply, the entire shifter becomes significantly more quiet. Very easy install so I'd recommend to anyone looking for same same, but better.

Easy installation and really made a night/day difference to this shifter. Shifting between gears no longer is metal on metal scraping but a nice solid thunk. After using a Fanatec shifter for a while until it broke I was thinking of what shifter to buy next without spending a lot of money. Le mod Oldboy est clairement la référence ! Le montage est simple, les pièces comme l’emballage respirent la qualité. Rien à voir avec la boîte générique d’origine : plus de bruits métalliques, et les ressorts, verts comme rouges offrent enfin une sensation réaliste pour du sim. I always loved the way the generic shifter felt aside from the side to side and the noise. This kit resolves any issues I have with the shifter. The rubber mutes everything and all you get is a crisp click. The stronger bottom springs improve the side to side feel a ton. I didn’t install the stronger gate springs because I like the way they feel stock, but I bought both the medium and stiff in case I ever want to try. As long as the components of the shifter last, I don’t personally see the need for any other upgrades. Highly recommend, I’m buying an assembled shifter now for a friend who rightfully hates his Logitech.

I ordered the stiff spring kit and the 6+R up shift plate. I ordered because I hated how loud my shifter was when banging gears. Installation was easy, came with everything needed and now my shifter has a nice dampened sound with a very positive “lock” going into gears. I’ve used and abused the shift plate for hours each day for a week and it seems like it will hold up for a long time. Very happy, if I ever need another plate or springs I will definitely buy again.

Feels great gives the car a very mechanical feel to it. Adds alot of resistance to the shifter, this made it harder to miss shift since you have to have a bit more force to shift making it rare that you’ll slide it into gear unintentionally. The materials are tough I like to drive hard on it sometimes and see very little flex or scuffs. Lastly helps alot with the noise you to loose the metal clank and the metal gasket makes the internals quiet down a lot. Overall definitely worth it you’ll notice a night a day difference plus it looks cool.

Before installing it feels rigid enough to withstand a couple months of intense beating if not years, all the parts necessary for assembly are included and securely packed, nice carbon weave pattern finish, after installing the noise in the shifter was significantly reduce to clack rather than the usual deafening clonck. The metal shavings were really an issue for me and I think that won't be an issue with the plastic. I go with medium springs which I feel gives me the ideal amount of resistance, not too hard nor soft and it feels like the real thing lets say, overall really happy with the relative quietness of the shifter with this mod, totally recommended.

Great Mod for the cheap USB-Shifter. I had to widen the ends of the replacement top springs a bit with a needle file, to get them to sit right on the prongs of the shifter guides. Also had to shim the bottom rubber pad a bit with some plastic playing cards, to make the shifter stand up completely straight, but that might have been necessary for the stock shifter already. I installed the mod kit right after getting the shifter, so I'm not sure. Otherwise it was plug and play and the result is great. Sounds very nice and feels solid. The heavy springs are a bit too heavy for my liking. But maybe that's something I'll get used to soon. Haven't spent enough time with it yet. Taxes might apply depending on where you order it from, just a reminder. All in all this is an awesome way to a great shifter at a reasonable price! Thanks!

I was able to install the shifter upgrade kit on the Amazon version of this shifter and it made it %500 percent better. I am replacing a $200 TH8A shifter. I had two Turtle Beach shifters but they both failed and got sent back. I chose the strongest springs for this budget shifter from and it adds a lot more definition and power to each shift. With the 7+r mod plate, the noise is dampened. not as mechanical, and much smoother. I would consider this upgrade a must if you have one of these type shifters. The forged carbon looks very nice.
